For many decades, Mama Dimna – affectionately called Mother Teresa Daredas by the locals – had been operating an orphanage in which she took in orphans, sick people or family-offended children. Since Timo's first visit to Dareda, we have been supporting this impressive and now highly aged woman. We installed a solar panel on the roof to bring light into the dark House, buy regular food supplies and finance the school fees for the small residents. Since Mama Dimna is unable to run the orphanage for a long time because of her advanced age and a takeover by our organization will not be possible after many negotiations, we are now looking for long-term accommodation for the children in Mama Dimna's home.
